  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pie crust by mixing flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Stir in ice water until dough forms; chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Roll out the chilled dough to fit a 9-inch pie pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and eggs until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract, pecans, and chocolate chips.
  5. Pour filling into the prepared crust and bake for about 50–60 minutes until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
  6. Cool on a wire rack for at least two hours before slicing.
