- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 1/3 cup pecans (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
- In a bowl, sift together both flours, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and spices.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients until just mixed; pour into the prepared dish.
- For the topping, mix sugars and pecans; sprinkle over the batter.
- Pour hot water over the topping without stirring.
