Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, whisk eggs with Dijon mustard in another, and put crushed pretzels in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into flour, then the egg mixture, and finally coat it well with crushed pretzels.
  5. Place the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/75°C).
  6. While the chicken bakes, make the mustard-cheddar sauce by heating milk and Dijon mustard in a saucepan. Gradually stir in shredded cheddar until melted and smooth; season with salt and pepper.
  7. Once baked, let the chicken rest briefly before drizzling it with the mustard-cheddar sauce.
