  • 1 lb frozen gyoza dumplings (vegan)
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes (mixed colors)
  • 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen gyoza according to package instructions, then toss with a teaspoon of sesame oil or a splash of water to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup to create the dressing. Pour over the steamed dumplings and gently toss.
  3. Chop heirloom tomatoes into wedges, slice cucumber and scallions, and add them to the bowl with dumplings.
  4. Tear fresh basil leaves on top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions for garnish.
  5. Serve at room temperature with garlic chili sauce if desired.
