- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 green onion, sliced
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
- Season the beef or chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, dip into beaten egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry each cutlet for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
