  • 2 cups thinly sliced or shredded turkey (instead of corned beef)
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 ½ cups drained sauerkraut
  • 1 cup Thousand Island dressing (or a suitable non-alcohol dressing)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the rye bread at the bottom of the dish, followed by half of the turkey, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Drizzle half of the dressing over these layers. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
