  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg, for brushing the tops
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan by lightly buttering the bottom and sides of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a small pot and mix in minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter mixture.
  4. Knead until smooth (about 10-12 minutes) adding flour as necessary.
  5. Divide dough into 12 equal portions; shape into balls and place in the prepared pan.
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (1-2 hours).
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg wash before baking for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Melt additional butter with minced garlic for brushing over baked rolls.
