  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp apple pie spice
  • 5 tbsp cinnamon (reserve 1 tbsp for topping)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • Olive oil nonstick spray

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the apples into 1/2-inch thick wedges.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, apple pie spice, and 4 tablespoons of cinnamon.
  3. Coat the apple wedges in the flour mixture using a container with a lid.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Dredge each wedge in the egg mixture, then return to the flour mixture for a second coat.
  6. Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
  7. Arrange coated apple wedges in a single layer in the basket and spray tops lightly with olive oil; sprinkle half of the reserved cinnamon sugar on top.
  8. Cook at 350°F for six minutes, flip, spray again, add remaining cinnamon sugar, and cook for another six minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with optional caramel sauce or powdered sugar glaze.
