  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with minced garlic and chopped onion for about 10 minutes until browned. Drain excess liquid.
  2. Stir in chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper; reduce heat to low and simmer for an hour.
  3. Add rinsed pinto beans and salt; stir well and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
