  • 200 g grated apples
  • 110 g vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 140 g sour cream
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • For the buttercream: 100 g butter, 165 g powdered sugar, caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce by heating granulated sugar and water until golden brown. Stir in butter, heavy cream, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugars with grated apples and vegetable oil. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract; blend well.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Pour into a greased cake pan.
  5. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the buttercream, beat room temperature butter and powdered sugar until smooth; mix in caramel and vanilla.
