  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • juice from half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare your apples by peeling and slicing them into thin pieces.
  3. In a skillet, combine sliced apples with sugars, flour, spices, lemon juice, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat until tender.
  4. Let the filling cool completely before assembling.
  5. Roll out your pie crust into a deep dish, fill with cooled apple mixture, and top with the second crust.
