  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (filling)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed (filling)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon (filling)
  • Powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and combine it with softened butter, eggs, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Gradually add bread flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered, for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread the filling over it.
  7. Cut into strips, braid three strips together, and tuck ends under to form buns.
  8. Allow braided buns to rise again for 30-45 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes until golden.
