Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the apples start to soften.
  2. Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Pour this into your apple mixture and let it cook for another minute or two until thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits. Flatten each one until it's about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Place about a tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each flattened biscuit. Fold over the edges to seal tightly.
  6. Dip each sealed dough ball into melted butter and roll in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Place the coated dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow the Apple Pie Bombs to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
