  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling: In a saucepan, cook chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and corn starch over medium heat for 5-10 minutes until softened. Add water if necessary to adjust thickness.
  2. Prepare bread cups: Cut French bread into small cubes and place in a bowl.
  3. Make custard mixture: Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon; pour over bread cubes and let soak for 15 minutes.
