  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 T melted unsalted butter for topping
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the unsalted butter over low heat and mix it with apple cider; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. Combine granulated sugar and egg into the butter-cider mixture until blended.
  5. Gently mix wet ingredients into dry until just combined—small lumps are fine.
  6. Fill a greased donut pan with batter and bake for about 7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before dipping in melted butter followed by a cinnamon-sugar coating.
