  • 1 cup sugar (200 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (133 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apple pieces (100 g)
  • ½ cup toasted pecans (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175℃).
  2. Toast the pecans in a small pan over medium heat until fragrant, then set aside to cool.
  3. Peel, core, and chop apples into small chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and mix well.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl; gently stir into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in apples and pecans until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 8×8 baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 30–45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
